A virtuoso performance by Christine Burn, which really involves and excites GCSE students, especially the protest march. Working conditions in a 19C Mill are made only too real: the grimness is unforgettable.

...I am receiving excellent feedback, so thank you again, you held those children in the palm of your hand for well over two hours. This emphasises my belief in the importance of giving children ‘really deep, lifelong, learning experiences’ which touch them in different ways as opposed to simply imparting subject knowledge. I thought the blend of historical focus, general knowledge, presentational skills and drama was first-rate...

Repton Prep,

The Runaway Apprentice enthralled our students from start to finish. The script allowed the entire audience to participate in the drama and brought the human side of the industrial revolution to life. Christine's professional approach and her super collection of props and costumes kept the children spellbound. We are looking forward to her return visit next Summer.

The Runaway Apprentice was an amazing experience for the pupils in our school. It totally immersed them in the Victorian Era.
Christine Burn brought history to life and the children quickly took on acting roles. Not only did the experience support the children's understanding of history but it also extended their learning across the curriculum, developing their speaking and listening skills, writing and as well as supporting all aspects of PHSE. We can't wait for the Lunchbox Theatre Company to return!'
